Qaf School App

V2

A massive release bringing virtual classes, real payment processing, a Salah & Ibadat tracker, richer news system, comprehensive RTL/Arabic support, parent school switching, and powerful admin improvements

Virtual Sessions — Live Links & Scheduling

New

Teachers can open and close virtual class sessions with host links, parent join links, and copyable session URLs. Admins can browse all sessions with filtering by date, class, and teacher.

Hijri Calendar Integration

New

The academic calendar now shows each day's Hijri date alongside the Gregorian date. Events and holidays are always visible in both calendars.

Stripe Payment Processing

New

Schools connect a Stripe account to accept tuition fees directly from parents. The full flow — submission, approval, and payout — is managed from the admin portal.

Comprehensive RTL Support

Improved

Every page, sidebar, table, dropdown, and modal now fully respects right-to-left layout for Arabic. Arabic speakers get a native-quality experience across the entire portal.

Guided Product Tours

New

An interactive step-by-step tour on the Students page walks admins through every new feature. No documentation needed — just follow the prompts.

Redesigned School Settings

Improved

Year and term selection now use an intuitive stepper instead of dropdowns, and settings are grouped into collapsible sections. The layout is also significantly more responsive on mobile.

Rich News System

Improved

Announcements are replaced with a full rich-text news editor — bold, lists, links, and more. Addresses in news items become tappable map links for families.

Enhanced Leaderboard — New Trophy Levels

Improved

Trophy colors and icons now match the mobile app. Four new levels — Ruby, Emerald, Obsidian, and Mythic — give students more milestones to reach.

Reimbursements & Wages — New Table View

Improved

The reimbursements section has a new table view with status filtering and category organization. Teachers submit wages by class; admins review and track everything in one place.

Copy Classes to Next Year

New

Copy all classes from the current year to the next in one action — names, types, room info, and syllabi carry over automatically. Optionally keep teacher assignments too.

View Previous Classes

New

Admins can now view prior-year classes on both the Registrations and Classes pages. The list is searchable and filterable for quick reference.

Salah & Ibadat Tracker

Mobile App

Parents can now track each child's daily worship from the mobile app — 5 prayers, Athkar Al-Sabah, Quran minutes, Dhikr, Dua, Sadaqah, Fasting, and Tarawih. Swipe between children, check off acts of worship, and share a weekly summary. Data syncs to Firestore so progress is never lost.

Parent School Switching

Mobile App

Parents in multi-school organizations can now switch between their org's schools directly from the mobile parent portal. Switching clears all caches instantly and rebuilds every view against the selected school — no re-login needed.

Organization Admins, Excused Attendance & More

Multi-school organizations now have dedicated admin access, attendance records support excused absences, and teachers can have individual hourly rates

Organization Admin Access

New

Schools that belong to an organization can now have org-level admins — people who have full admin access across all schools in the org without needing to be listed as an admin on each individual school. Org admins can switch between schools from the navbar, and their role is shown with a distinct badge in the permissions page.

Excused Absence Marking

New

Admins can now mark a student's absence as excused directly from the attendance page. Excused absences are visually distinguished from unexcused ones in all attendance views.

Per-Teacher Hourly Rate

New

Reimbursement calculations now support individual hourly rate overrides per teacher. If a teacher's rate differs from the school default, it can be set directly on their profile and will be used automatically when generating wage reports.

Palestine & Middle East Support

New

Added full support for Palestine and an expanded set of Middle Eastern countries — including phone number formats, currencies, and timezone configurations. Schools in the region can now be set up correctly without workarounds.

Academic Year Adjustment

Improved

School admins can now update the current academic year and semester directly from the school settings page, without needing a superadmin to step in. The setting takes effect immediately across attendance, homework, and all other year-scoped data.

German Language, Feature Requests & Smarter Syllabi

German is now fully live across the app, admins can vote on features directly, and class syllabi now auto-build from your school's term structure

German (Deutsch) Language Support

New

The entire app — admin portal, parent portal, registration forms, public pages, and all notifications — is now available in German. Qaf now supports Arabic, English, French, Somali, Turkish, and German, making it accessible to a wider range of Islamic schools across Europe.

Feature Requests Board

New

Admins now have a dedicated Feature Requests page where they can suggest new ideas, describe them in detail using the rich-text editor, and vote on requests from other schools. Items are ranked by community votes so the most-wanted features rise to the top. Super admins can manage and moderate the board.

Class Catalog — Syllabus Sections from School Terms

Improved

When using "Start from Template" in the class syllabus editor, sections are now automatically generated from your school's actual term configuration (e.g. Term 1, Term 2, Semester 1) instead of generic placeholders. The semester template buttons in the toolbar also use your real term labels — so the syllabus always matches how your school divides the year.

Role-Based Access: Manager & Treasurer

Two new staff roles let you give the right people the right access — without making everyone a full admin

Manager Role

New

A new Manager role grants full admin access to academics, communication, settings, and reports — while blocking budget and expenses. Ideal for a vice-principal or operations coordinator who manages the school day-to-day but shouldn't touch finances.

Treasurer Role

New

The Treasurer role is finance-focused: access to budget, expenses, students, news, and the academic calendar — nothing else. Perfect for a bookkeeper or finance volunteer who only needs to track payments and reimbursements without seeing the rest of the school's data.

Auto-Link Student to Parent on Creation

Improved

When an admin creates a new student, the system now automatically finds the matching parent account by phone number and links the student to their portal instantly — no manual step needed.

Reimbursements: Smarter Filtering

Improved

The reimbursements view now filters by category and reorders the status summary cards to Approved → Pending → Paid, making the most actionable items visible first.

Bulk Student Import

Upload an Excel sheet to add dozens of students at once — with full validation and clear error feedback

Bulk Import Students from Excel

New

School Settings now has a Bulk Import Students section. Download the template, fill in student details (name, parent phone, gender, date of birth, emails, and more), then upload the sheet. All rows are validated before anything is saved — if any row has an error, nothing is written and you get a detailed per-row error list. Student IDs are generated automatically from the parent phone number. A duplicate warning reminds you not to re-upload existing students.

Holiday Awareness Across the Portal

The portal now knows when it's a holiday — banners, timers, attendance, and date pickers all respond automatically

Holiday Banners & Event Details

New

The portal home page now shows an amber banner on holidays with the event name. Tapping it opens a dialog with full event details. Non-working days get their own separate gray banner. The session timer is suppressed on holidays so it doesn't count down when school isn't running.

Attendance Blocked on Holidays

Improved

Taking attendance on a holiday now shows a friendly closed screen with a party popper icon and the holiday name instead of the attendance form. Submissions are fully blocked so no accidental records are created.

Holiday-Aware Date Pickers

Improved

Absence requests and substitution dialogs now disable holiday and non-working dates in the calendar picker. The absence flow auto-advances past holidays, and both forms validate against holidays at submit time to catch any edge cases.

School Contact Info & Settings Polish

Schools now have phone and address fields visible across the portal, plus keyboard shortcuts and drag-to-reorder throughout settings

School Phone & Address

New

School Settings now has phone (with country code formatting) and address fields under Contact & Socials. The portal home shows a Contact School section with phone, email, address, and social links. The registration closed page also shows phone and address with a Google Maps link for the address.

Cmd+S to Save

Improved

School Settings and Edit Profile now respond to Cmd+S (or Ctrl+S on Windows). The shortcut only triggers when there are unsaved changes, so it's safe to press any time.

Drag to Reorder Quick Links & Schedule Periods

Improved

Quick Links and Daily Schedule periods in School Settings now have drag handles so you can reorder them freely. Time inputs in schedule periods were also fixed — keyboard typing now works correctly without the browser swallowing partial values.

Families across any country get the alert at exactly the right moment, so school events, holidays, and gatherings never slip by unnoticed.

Notifications in Your School's Language

Improved

Calendar reminders are now translated automatically into the school's default language — English, Arabic, French, Somali, or Turkish — so every family reads the news in the language they actually speak.
